A parish council has pointed the finger at a “small number of residents” for slowing down a traffic calming scheme in a village near Bordon.
Funding is in place to install a pedestrian crossing between two bus stops on Petersfield Road in Greatham with most people in the village backing the proposal.
A workforce is also ready but they’ve been twiddling their thumbs, as the parish council reported at their March meeting that a “small number of residents are making it impossible to implement” the crossing.
The addition would be the first part of a greater traffic calming scheme with GPC also considering plans to install strips of cobbles across the road, as they’ve proved effective in Buriton.
