EAST Hampshire groups or projects that are run for the wider community are being invited to apply for councillor grants.
They can apply to East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) councillors’ for the areas for grants.
The school expanded from an infant school to a primary school in 2013, and with more pupils came a need for more classroom space.
The first floor extension has been designed to blend in with the original Victorian architecture.
Head teacher Vickie Farrow, said: “Cllr Drew’s money was put toward a fund-raising concert we held in the summer and also the new room’s design. It was very important we should keep the original school features and didn’t want to change the original look of the building. He helped us get the project off the ground with the grant which we are very grateful for.”
Cllr Drew said: “The school provides a fantastic start in life for our kids but it was in desperate need for more space after it became a primary school.
“I was all too happy to donate some of my grant fund towards helping the school provide this fabulous new classroom and I look forward to the new room being used by the whole community.”
