A DIRECTOR of Cala Homes who lives in Liss says he is disappointed plans for 26-houses and a village hall in Stroud have been refused.
Cala hoped to build on land alongside Ramsdean Road, but on October 12 South Downs National Park Authority planners refused to grant the necessary permission.
Rob Hall of Cala Homes said: “We worked very hard to come up with a scheme we thought we could all be proud off, but unfortunately the planners didn’t agree.”
But it also seems the scheme may have fallen foul of outgoing planning guidelines, and the plans may be put on hold until new ones come into effect.
Mr Hall added: “In the new emerging South Downs National Park local plan the field where we hope to build is earmarked for 30 houses.”
It is expected that the local plan will be approved in the next 18 months, and Cala say at the moment they are happy to wait until them to resubmit their proposals.
