JUNIOR pupils at Ditcham Park School enjoyed a ski trip in Claviere, Italy, which saw them take part in a torchlit descent, ride skidoos up the mountains and try bum boarding while sliding down a slope.
They also spent an evening walking by torchlight in snow shoes across the border into France. For the torchlit ski descent, they caught the last ski-lift up the mountain, where they were given lanterns similar to the Olympic torch, with colours replicating the Italian flag. Then, when it was dark, they skied down the mountain.
A school spokesman said: “The day they arrived, the resort had more than 12 inches of snow, followed by glorious sunshine, the perfect conditions.
“Ski trips are very special opportunities, and this trip has given the pupils a wonderful experience and many precious memories.”
