WALKIES with a twist gave delighted dogs their day at Queen Elizabeth Country Park.

A cross country running with dogs event organised by national group CaniX attracted adults and children and their raring-to-go canines, ranging from whippets to collies.

There were classes and races over the weekend, with everyone enjoying the fresh air and exercise.

Keen runner Jamie Lewington ran with his Alaskan Malamute called Nuks on Sunday and his friend’s pointer on Saturday.

“It is always enjoyable to combine running with being with your dog. It’s a great thing to do and it’s something that’s getting very popular now with branches around the regions putting on events.”
