THE 30th annual fundraising Trotton garden fete and duck race was well attended – despite the weather being more ideal for ducks.
The event on Saturday in the grounds of Trotton House raised money for Trotton church, and the high point is the duck race along a stretch of the River Rother that runs alongside the house grounds.
A fete spokesman said: “The afternoon was well attended, and the weather was fine except for a shower during the duck race, ideal weather for ducks.”
As well as the popular river race, there were various fete stalls, including ones selling toys, books and second hand items.
There was also a popular raffle, which included donated prizes.
But the busiest place during the afternoon fete was the food and drink marquee, which offered a selection of home made cakes and other tasty delights, and refreshing drinks.
