IN APRIL the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth and seven mayors and council chairmen, including from East Hampshire, will take part in a charity abseil down the Emirates Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth.
The dignitaries represent Gosport, Winchester, Havant, Eastleigh, Southampton and East Hampshire District Council (EHDC).
From EHDC, it’s chairman, Cllr David Ashcroft will be raising money for his chosen charities, Southern Domestic Abuse Services and Medical Detection Dogs.
Swinton Insurance has already committed a substantial amount towards this event, and other businesses and the general public are being encouraged to get involved as sponsors.
