CHILDREN at a Sheet playgroup have enjoyed feeding farm animals, releasing butterflies and holding snakes.
The fun began with a visit to Hyden Farm, near Clanfield, where they fed ducks, chickens, pigs and piglets, completed a treasure hunt for missing ducks, played on a hay bale assault course and enjoyed a tractor ride.
Soon after the farm visit, caterpillars the children had cared for were released when they had turned into butterflies, and then the Stepping Stones playgroup in Inmans Lane was visited by Zoo Lab.
Among the animals the travelling zoo brought, and which the children could handle, were gerbils, snakes, African snails and tortoises.
