PEOPLE in East Hampshire have been urged to have their say on plans to create a new fire and rescue authority for the county.
Fire chiefs are considering plans to merge the Hampshire and Isle of Wight fire authorities.
A 12-week public consultation has also been launched with residents having until October 26 to comment.
Feedback from responders, the Hampshire and Fire Rescue Authority (HFRA) and Isle of Wight Council will determine whether an application is submitted to the Government, with the Home Secretary having the final say.
Response forms are available online at www.hants fire.gov.uk/consultation while paper copies can be obtained by calling 023 8062 6815. A final decision is expected in January 2019.
