A motorist needed freeing from a vehicle following a collision on the northbound A3 near Petersfield last night (Monday, April 8).

Two vehicles came into collision near the A272 junction around 11pm with the road being closed for nearly an hour.

Minor injuries were reported but one occupant was extricated by firefighters before being handed over to paramedics.

The accident took place around 10.25pm with police being called along with fire crews from Petersfield, Horndean and Cosham.

The authorities also made the scene safe, with the stop message coming through at midnight.
