THERE’S a reason why guitarist and singer songwriter Greg Harper is returning for a fourth time to Write Angle’s guest and open mic poetry and music night.
With his gentle touch, evocative melodies, and thought-provoking lyrics, which have been put to good use in songs promoting causes, he is a firm favourite with the Petersfield audience.
Greg was born in Shoreham-by-Sea, and has performed in the United States, Ireland and all around the UK, in a range of venues including folk clubs, pubs, theatres, farms, castles, chapels, village halls, and even Parliament.
The Woodland Trust used one of his songs – All Gone – to raise awareness of the loss of ancient woodland, and his Cool Clear Water is about the dangers of fracking.
Compassion in World Farming has described his Gossamer Wings, about the plight of bees, as “a very beautiful, poignant and haunting song”.
It is fair to say he writes with great passion and honesty about our history, aspirations, loves and lives.
Admission is £6. Visitors are very welcome to just listen. For more information visit the website at: www.petersfieldwriteangle.co.uk
