A new cookbook featuring more than 100 recipes has been created by the students, teachers, and families of the Froxfield School community, writes Jo Gray.

What started as a simple idea from the Friends of Froxfield School (FoFS)—the school’s parent-led fundraising group—quickly grew into a project that included everyone from the youngest reception students to the head teacher.

Pupils at the school were assigned recipe homework to complete with their families, and each recipe is uniquely personalised with children’s drawings, handwritten instructions, and photos of their culinary creations.

The work was carefully scanned to become a beautiful book for all to treasure. Kerry Botha, an active member of FoFS, said: “Everyone had fun taking part and it is exciting for the children to see their work in a published book. The cookbook is not only a practical resource for all to enjoy and use, it’s also a beautiful keepsake for the children and their families.

“There’s a delightful selection of recipes and something for everyone, from family favourites passed down the generations, variations of popular sweets and savouries, plus recipes from around the world - all professionally collated into helpful categories.”

Kerry added: “We are thrilled at the quality of the cookbook. It is a perfect Christmas present! All proceeds will be gratefully received and help purchase much-needed equipment and extras for the school.”

FoFS will share its initiative in the hope it inspires others to get their children involved in the kitchen.

Each cookbook is available for £12, or £10 each when ordering two or more. To order email [email protected]
