Dirty Dancing. Sweet Child O’ Mine. Acid washed jeans. Pat Cash climbing up the Wimbledon balcony. Brick-sized mobile phones attached to briefcases.

If you remember all these – and let’s be honest, that’s most of us reading this – then a milestone exhibition in Liss this Saturday (May 31) should be up your street.

This Liss Area Historical Society have decided to celebrate the group’s 40th anniversary by giving people a chance to take a trip down memory lane.

The 80s event will take place at Liss Triangle Centre

A time capsule of sorts will be opened as ‘A Year in the Life of Liss’ project carried out by the group in 1987 will be revisited from 9.30am to 4pm in the Triangle Centre.

The free exhibition will include archive material from village groups and organisations who documented their activities over the year.

There will also be a rolling slideshow, historic images, information boards and – yes – toys, games and retro catalogues from the period to bring out the 80s child in all of us.
