Guided tours are being offered around a tiny East Hampshire church with 1,000 years of history.

If you’ve ever caught the train from Petersfield to Portsmouth, you will have noticed “The Little Church in the Field” north of Rowlands Castle.

Churchwarden and buildings officer, John Bannell, will reveal more about St Hubert’s Idsworth’s rich history over the summer with three tours planned.

He said: “It’s always a delight to meet and speak with visitors to the church – some have asked if we do regular guided tours, so we thought, why not?”

Participants can learn about the building’s unique features and its important wallpaintings, along with details about its maintenance, repair and conservation programme.

The first tour will begin at 2.30pm on Wednesday, May 22, with others from the same time on June 12 and July 10. Participation is free but donations welcome, to book visit https://bit.ly/3WcrCFW
