Plans to build five homes next to a flooding hotspot in South Harting have been approved despite concerns over design and density.
More than a dozen people objected to proposals by The Langmead Children to build market housing on The Forge site on Elstead Road.
Harting Parish Council objected and supplied the South Downs National Park Authority with pictures of flooding on the lane.

They criticised the “inner city” density of housing proposed while another objector feels the application could open the floodgates to similar schemes in “one of the UK’s best secret villages”.
However, the 0.58 hectare plot was listed as a housing allocation site in 2016, with the SDNPA giving the applicants a sizeable list of conditions to be met.
