A Petersfield group will be given food for thought when a historian gives a lunchtime talk about a topical period of the 21st century.
Dr Stephen Goss will talk to the Petersfield South Downs Probus Club about Britain and the Cold War when the group meets at The Half Moon in Sheet next Tuesday (April 28).
Dr Goss, whose talk at 11.30am will be followed by lunch, is known to the group as he recently spoke to members about the Wit and Satire of Gilbert & Sullivan.
A spokesperson said: “Dr Goss is an academic historian who has been a popular speaker to local historical socieities and community groups for 15 years.
“His historical presentations are based on the highest standard of research and analysis presented in an engaging, witty and enjoyable way to suit the audience.”
Non-members can join the talk and lunch for £25, or pay £5 for the talk only. To book or for more details call 07967 015596.
