A BURST of energy and charisma is guaranteed as Write Angle’s first guest poet of the year – Justin Coe – takes to the mic.
Justin, who has proved a very popular turn at Petersfield’s monthly poetry evening at The Townhouse, returns with his brand of spoken word which ranges from the profound to the humorous.
On a mission to reconnect poetry with people, he’s entertained everywhere from the Isle of Sheppey, where he was born, to Shanghai, from the Savoy Hotel to street corners, steam trains and a sitting room made entirely out of newspaper.
Lately he’s been focusing on creating family-friendly shows, such as My Creepy-Crawly Story House.
His best-known shows include The Jumble Book, Dictionary of Dads, One Way Ticket, which explores the child migration scandal of the 50s, and Big Wow Small Wonder.
Said Write Angle organiser Leah Cohen:?“Justin is a natural to begin the new year. He is really warm and lovable and draws the audience in.”
He will be performing on January 17 at 7.30pm, followed by open mic poetry. Visit www.petersfieldwriteangle.co.uk for more.
