Transgender racing driver Charlie Martin will speak at the Grill Lecture at Churcher’s College in Petersfield on April 23 at 7pm.

This is an annual event at which a well-known public figure shares their knowledge and experience.

Charlie competes in endurance racing and this year she is driving a BMW M240i at the Nürburgring Nordschleife 24-hour race with Adrenalin Motorsport.

Charlie is also an LGBTQ+ activist who made history as the first transgender driver to compete in the event.

Starting out with £1,500 from a summer job after university and a can-do attitude, she has overcome huge adversity to succeed as her true self. Charlie is an experienced and critically acclaimed public speaker, talking with up front honesty about the challenges she has faced in both her personal life and within motorsport.

Her story is both inspirational and aspirational, showing just how far the human spirit, and a drive to succeed, can take you.
