THIS year’s Liss Christmas fair and late night shopping event was a big success, say organisers.

The event took place from 6pm to 8pm last Wednesday (December 7) and had some of the usual favourites, while Liss Band provided music to help add to the seasonal atmosphere.

Kevin Johnson, who owns On All Floors and helped to organise the fair, said: “It went really, really well.

“Liss Band were great, the school choir were good and Santa’s Grotto did really well.

“The best-dressed window competition was won by Liss Wools, and the runner-up was the Rose Garden.”

Kevin thanked a number of people who helped to make this year’s Liss Christmas fair and late night shopping event a success.

He said: “All the shopkeepers put themselves out there, which was nice to see.

“I’d also like to thank the parish clerk for organising the road closures and the Christmas trees, and Lisa from Jade News for doing all of her work with a smile.”

Kevin has decided that this will be his last year organising the Christmas fair.

He added: “I’ve decided it’s my last year organising the fair and I’m going to hand over to some younger blood.

“The fair needs new ideas coming through. I’m happy to support whoever takes over and be there for them.

“It was nice to go out on a high. I was able to walk round and soak everything in, which was special.

“I’m not retiring though and my shop is still here.”
