MOTORISTS heading to London should allow extra time for travelling this week as much of the A3 between Petersfield and Guildford will be closed overnight.

The northbound carriageway between Buriton and Sheet will be closed from 10pm to 6am every night this week for resurfacing work, while the section between Longmoor and Godalming will be shut during the same hours this Thursday and Friday.

Contraflows will also be in place in the Hindhead Tunnel this Wednesday and Thursday to allow the testing and maintenance of safety equipment.
