TWENTY-SEVEN newly trained full time firefighters are to join fire stations throughout the county.
They were selected from more than 800 applicants for the jobs and applicants came from both the general public and from the ranks of part time retained firemen, of which 11 were chosen to join the 16-week intensive training course, which covered all aspects of a firefighter’s job.
