A COUNCILLOR has been co-opted on to Petersfield Town Council.

Arun Glendinnning will now represent the Causeway Ward on the council.

Councillors elected him at the full council meeting on Thursday, January 18 in the Town Hall council chamber.

Mr Glendinning won the vote after he and two other candidates, Peter Clist, and Matthew Gass, gave short presentations on why they would like to be a councillor.

Mr Glendinning gained the support of five of the nine councillors at the meeting.

He will now join the council until the local government elections in May 2019.
