THE NEW season for the Petersfield Comedy Club kicks off with some corkers.

Getting the audience in the mood and introducing the comic turns as MC for the night is the slick Bryan Lacey. No stranger to the Petersfield stage, Bryan is a wonderful host and his anecdotes of scrapes he gets into are always hilarious.

Opening act is James Alderson, who supported big names including Jo Brand and Eddie Izzard in 2015 and won ‘best comedian’ in The Guide awards in Portsmouth.

From Waterlooville, James is a must see for comedy fans.

Closing the show at the Folly Wine and Ale House on Monday, February 1, at 8.30pm, is whirlwind Australian John Robertson.

Called a “manic and quick-witted revelation” by one reviewer, he’s a firebrand of improvisation and is sure to hit the stage running.

It’s a case of light the blue touch paper, step back and enjoy the fireworks with this Aussie favourite.

The middle act was unconfirmed as the Post went to press.

Tickets are £6 in advance from the Folly Bar (downstairs) and £7 on the door. Food is served from 6.30-9pm. Visit www.barkingmadcomedy.com for more.
