DETAILS about the lives – and deaths – of the 193 men of Buriton parish who fought in the First World War are among the archives being collected at Buriton’s Heritage Bank.

Already, in the centenary years of the war, the enthusiastic local historians who contribute to the bank have gathered much material but further memories, pictures and artefacts will be welcome.

The group’s website has been refreshed with a clear layout to cover the topics researched so far. These include hop picking, Buriton limeworks and the arrival of the railway.
