A FREELANCE horse racing writer from Rake has turned to fairies for his latest literary offering.

The Most Curious Case of the Runaway Spoon is Tony Flannagan’s first children’s book, inspired by the fairy letters written to his daughter Frances, now 16, when she was young.

Tony (54) will be reading from his “nonsensical, fantastical adventure”, just published by Pegasus, and signing copies at One Tree Books in Lavant Street, Petersfield, tomorrow (Saturday), from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

Under the pseudonym Larkspur, Tony writes for Racing Ahead magazine, and has self-published three books about horse racing.
