UNEMPLOYMENT In East Hampshire has fallen again overall, although among young people it has risen slightly.
In the 18 to 24 age group the number of unemployed rose by 10 on this time last year to 65, an increase of 18 per cent.
However the number of unemployed in all ages fell by 40 to 325 since January 2016.
These latest figures have been welcomed by East Hampshire MP Damian Hinds, who said: “It’s a good start to the year, with numbers that demonstrate the economy is showing strength and resilience, right across the country.”
The figures also reveal that East Hampshire is 628 out of 650 constituencies for lowest claimant rates in the country.
