A WOMEN’S clothing store which opened its doors in Petersfield in 1994 is to close within three weeks – despite being profitable.

Bosses at New Look have confirmed the branch on the corner of Rams Walk and High Street is to close on August 10.

The popular store will be replaced by Mint Velvet as the retailer, which sells luxury women’s fashion, secured a deal after negotiations with the landlord.

The ten New Look workers affected by the change have been offered voluntary redundancy or the chance to apply for a job at another branch, with Waterlooville, Havant and Guildford being the closest outlets.
