A PETERSFIELD photographer has recorded this ‘historic time’ by capturing socially-distant doorstep images of her neighbours during lockdown.
Tina Knowles lives on a town-centre street and wanted to cheer up those living in her road as well as create a record for posterity.
She said: “The road is popular with new families, with lots of young children and babies, and I knew many of them to say ‘hi’ to, and chat to.
“I wanted to do something that would cheer everyone up and provide a historical memory of these interesting times.
“I posted a letter through everyone’s door, and the response was really positive.
“I photographed some of our oldest residents, such as John Rutter, known for his knowledge of tractors, and the flamboyant David Weeks, our local circus ’speiler.
“Our youngest resident Isaac was born during longdown, and has kept his three bothers and sisters busy!
“Standing on the kerb to make sure I was two metres away, a I used a zoom lens – doorways are great for portraits as the light is flattering.”
This week the Post is pleased to publish 15 of Tina’s photos – and more will be in next week’s paper.
Tina is hoping expand her ‘doorstep’ idea. For details email her at [email protected] visit her website at www.tinaknowles.co.uk or contact her on 07976 302937.
