WHO dunnit? meets Where is it? as the Winton Players’ cast of Busybody by Jack Popplewell is led on a merry danse macabre by a seemingly peripatetic corpse with an identity problem, in their next production...
In this 1960s comedy thriller, Detective Superintendent Baxter (David Blackmore) is plagued, not only by a severe head cold, but also by the incessant, know-it-all garrulity of office cleaner Mrs Piper (Anne-Lise Kadri), who has all manner on things secreted about her person and who is clearly a fan of Mrs. Malaprop.
Moving from the production team page in the programme to that of the cast is Lesley Redstone, who is more usually associated with costume artistry, while Phill Humphries plays businessman Richard Marshall, who just may be not all he seems.
Also appearing will be Amy Perkins and Margaret Coles.
Newcomers Jac Poulton and Joff Lacey will each be making their Festival Hall stage debuts.
Set design is by Alan Cosh and Ruth Hiller is the accomplished occupant of the director’s chair.
Busybody will be at the Festival Hall, Petersfield from October 8-10.
Tickets are available now from the Tourist Information Centre in Petersfield Library – call 01730 268829.
