A PETERSFIELD modeller spent four years on a battle scene, only to find the opposition was international.
Dave Williams (59), of Kimbers, has enthusiastically glued and painted planes, boats, and trains since he was a boy.
And his ‘Ambush – the capture of Dauntless’ was his first diorama from Warhammer, a fantasy war game, and he showed it at the two-day Warhammer Fest 2016 in the Ricoh Stadium, Coventry.
But once there, he was surprised to see other modellers from across the world.

“None of the ten categories were won by English model makers, so I was really pleased to reach the final of my category.”
Dave, who works for IBM, regularly spends hours every week on his modelling.
He said: “My garage is full of bits and pieces, that may come in useful.
“I am looking forward to retirement so I can really get stuck in.”
