A STORE director of a Petersfield opticians has donated high visibility jackets to keep children safe and visible this winter.
The team at Specsavers in the town have donated the jackets to the Pedal2Pedal Academy – an initiative to help children and adults become better riders in a fun and progressive environment. Part of their mission is to prepare cyclists to be confident and under control on their bikes in any situation.
Hannah Attenburrow, founder of Pedal2Pedal said: “When Specsavers in Petersfield contacted us with the offer of free high visibility jackets for our members, we were overjoyed.
“Now that winter is approaching, the jackets will help children be safe and seen on the trails in the evenings and they will enable our younger riders to enjoy their sport for longer in the coming months.”
Store director Jo Cox said: “It was a pleasure to meet Hannah and the Pedal2Pedal children at their mountain bike training session.
“The children were having lots of fun zooming about in the lovely setting of the park. Hannah’s efforts are commendable and it is nice to play our small role in keeping these children visible and safe with the clocks going back.”
