RETAILERS and businesses in Petersfield town centre certainly added to the festive feeling around the town over the Christmas period.
Over 20 businesses entered the Petersfield Post’s annual Christmas Shop Window Competition.
The aim of the contest is to revive the tradition of shop fronts being dressed up in a festive theme to bring more colour and light to Petersfield’s streets during the cold winter evenings.
And business owners certainly rose to our challenge, producing many stunning displays to compliment the excellent Christmas lights display throughout the town centre this festive season.
Post Series editor Graeme Moir said:?“The other aim of the competition is to make Petersfield a more attractive place for Christmas shoppers to come and visit.
“The entries to the competition certainly did that and our judges had a tough time picking the top three displays from the entries.”
This year’s winner of the competition was the Dog’s Trust Charity Shop in High Street. The judges said of their display:?“The staff have gone to a lot of effort to introduce a winter wonderland to their shop front while also ensuring they keep the dogs theme involved.”
Morgan-Owen and Coates in Lavant Street were runners-up and the judges commented:?“The festive red theme dominates with a stunning surrounding of beautiful baubles.” The Frame Centre, in Swan Street, took third place.
