THE PETERSFIELD Society and Petersfield Community Land Trust steering group are hosting an open meeting on a proposal that will afford scores of town residents the opportunity to build their own homes.
The Petersfield Plan has allocated two plots of land, one in Reservoir Lane and the other off Bell Hill, for 112 self-build, or custom built, houses.
The aim is for people with links to the town to build their own homes at an affordable cost.
A land trust spokesman said: “The dwellings will be solely for the use of people with a local connection and in perpetuity.”
Guest speakers at the meeting on Monday, November 28, at 7.30pm in the United Reform Church in College Street include Mario Wolf, a senior government housing advisor on housing and planning.
Also speaking at the open to all free entry meeting, are Reg Honeybul, managing director of Concept2Homes house providers, and John Palmer of the Petersfield Community Land Trust steering group.
There will also be refreshments at the meeting.
