PETERSFIELD’S poor run of results continued on Saturday when they were comfortably beaten 3-0 at high-flying Folland Sports.

Now third from bottom in Wessex League Division 1, the Rams conceded early on to the Planemakers, third from top, and there was no way back for the visitors.

From the off, Folland started the better, but it was Max Paddon for the Rams who went closest in the early exchanges with a ninth-minute effort following a good move.

But in the 18th minute Folland took the lead through the impressive Fabio Manuel and, as has so often happened this season, it was not long before the Rams conceded again with Matt Casey adding the second just two minutes later.

Rams manager Mark Summerhill said: "There were too many errors - we have to roll our sleeves up and get stuck in games like this."

For the remainder of the half, Folland continued to have the upper hand, but the Rams held firm to stay in touch.

The second half continued in much the same vein with Folland posing the greater threat and the Rams struggling to mount meaningful attacks.

In the 66th minute Matt Casey scored his second, and Folland’s third, goal of the game to effectively put the game to bed.

To their credit the Rams kept battling to the final whistle but all in all it was a very disappointing afternoon.

After so many games against sides at the top end of the table, the October fixtures look a little less daunting.

Summerhill added: "We have played eight games so far, and six of those were against the stronger teams in the top half of the league. Now we need to take some points, otherwise we could be in trouble."

The Rams’ reserves also went down to a 3-0 defeat against in-form AFC Stoneham Reserves at Love Lane.
