A SPOKESMAN for developers hoping to build 200 homes on fields in Petersfield has assured a meeting they will be high quality houses.

The South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) planning committee meeting in the South Downs Centre in Midhurst today (April 14) heard the proposal was being recommended for approval by SDNPA planners.

Head of planning for David Wilson Homes, and speaking on behalf Bovis Homes, Stuart Goodwill told the meeting that a lot of time had gone into designing the estate on Causeway Farm.

He said it had taken three years to reach this point.

He added: "We believe this a high quality proposal that also creates 22 hectares of open space next to the homes. There has been significant work on this proposal to create bespoke designs for the homes.

"We believe this will set a benchmark for future development in the national park."

The meeting continues.
