THROUGHOUT half term, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is offering free entry for children – with opportunities to take part in fun fitness challenges based on the regimes of Royal Navy crews through 200 years of naval history.

Until June 3, visitors of all ages will be able to re-live exercises that kept naval recruits in great shape. Among other activities, visitors can join actors for a Victorian sailor’s daily fitness routine aboard HMS Warrior 1860, learn about football’s role in Navy fitness, take part in exercise challenges, enjoy crafts and even ‘dance and sing-a-long’ sea shanties.
