The driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal collision which killed two teenagers on a Meon Valley road was underage according to an update from Hampshire Police.
Damien “Damo” Dean and Mason Renhard died after their grey Hyundai i20 collided with a tree off Corhampton Lane early last Sunday (July 13).
The pair were named this morning with investigations continuing into the crash, which took place sometime before 2.47am between Corhampton and the Sailor’s Lane crossroads.
The driver, 16-year-old Damien, comes from Denmead while the 17-year-old passenger, Mason, is from Eastleigh. Despite the best efforts of emergency services both were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Their families have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who has relevant dash cam footage capturing the incident or the moments leading up to it.
