Police have stepped up high-visibility patrols around parts of Petersfield following several reports of violent incidents around town.
The incidents have not been specified by police but have included serious assaults according to their latest update.
Officers carried out patrols on foot and in a marked vehicle last night (Wednesday, November 5) in a bid to provide reassurance to the community and to “prevent and deter anti-social behaviour and criminality”.
Areas patrolled include the High Street and church, train station, Tesco car park, Love Lane skate park, Borough Hill play area and the Alderfields area.
If you have been a victim or want to report an incident call 101, or 999 in an emergency, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
