FRIDAY will be a home win for Petersfield-based Portsmouth fans, as players travel to the town for the launch of booklets reliving the playing history of the famous football club.
Among those expected at the launch are former Portsmouth Football Club players Alan Knight, Ray Crawford, Dave Munks and Guy Butters.
Compiled by Pompey fan Roger Holmes, each of the 89 booklets covers one season.
The life-long Pompey fan from the Isle of Wight says the project has been an “exhausting” ten-year labour of love. “Even as a kid I made notes,” said Mr Holmes, who first watched a match at Fratton Park when he was five.

The launch in The Petersfield Bookshop in Chapel Street, run by John Westwood – arguably one of the most recognisable football fans in the country – kicks off at noon on Friday and the final whistle will blow at 5pm.
