A choir is feeling more than grand as a seasonal concert in a Petersfield church has raised plenty of notes for an East Hampshire charity.

The Petersfield Community Choir deserve plenty of praise as a retiring collection following their Sounds of Summer concert in a packed St Peter’s has raised £1,175 for HomeStart Butser.

Guests, which included Petersfield deputy mayor, Cllr Jamie Matthews and his wife, Mel, and HomeStart scheme manager Nicola Winter, were treated to a wide variety of songs with a supporting guest artist getting feet tapping with a selection of jazz ditties.

There was plenty of fun and laughter with the audience joining part of the encore and musical director Ysanne Bonner and the choir thanking guests for their generosity.
