Durleighmarsh Farm near Rogate is giving people the chance to make juice from their own apples.

Alison Grange from the farm shop said: "It has been a really good year for apples and people seem to have huge quantities of fruit they don’t know what to do with."

The farm has been offering its apple press and macerator (chops the apples into small pressable pieces) for use for a couple of years now and it’s proving very popular.

"We’ve had around 20 families in the last week or so to press their apples," said Alison. "It’s a lovely thing for children to help with."

One large shopping bag of fruit makes around four bottles of fresh juice.

The apple press will be available for about another month before it’s packed away for next year. You can press grapes and pears using it, too.

The farm shop is also stocked with pumpkins and squashes, as well as eggs, vegetables, pies, ice cream, meat, jams, flour and more, and you can pick your own raspberries and blueberries on site.
