The Eco Team from the Federation of Liss Infant and Junior School recently met with Liss Men’s shed who kindly donated bird, bat boxes and insect hotels for around the school.
A school spokesman said: “The children are thrilled and cannot wait to put them up around the school to encourage more wildlife.
“We wanted to say a big thank you to Liss Men’s Shed for the beautiful crafty boxes.”
Liss Mens Shed is a community organisation for the village and surrounding area.
The group opened its new ‘shed’ on the Newman Collard playing fields earlier this month, after starting its build and associated renovation in April.
A spokesman for Liss Mens Shed said: “Our members got together for coffee and cakes for the first time since before lockdown.
“What a lovely feeling. We’re back!”
The work was funded through sponsorship, grants and fundraising, but members did the work.
The spokesman added: “We bring members together to support each other and play a worthwhile role in a practical hands-on framework using their vast array of skills.”
