People in a community near Petersfield have been urged to put their hands together to celebrate nine centuries of a village church.

A link 900 years in the making will be made at midday on August 24 when people from Steep and surrounding villages join hands around All Saints.

The symbolic “Hands around the church” ceremony will be filmed by a drone with attendee names and photos of the event being included in a commemorative album. But furthermore, it’s a chance for people to play a part in Steep’s history.

The £5 registration fee covers participation, inclusion in the album, after-event drinks and a souvenir photograph of the day.
