Petersfield Mayor's Quiz raises £335 for two local charities.
On Wednesday, November 30, 10 teams of 6 competed in the charity fund-raising Quiz in the Rose Room organised by Mayor Peter Clist, and Town Council staff.
The winning team against stiff competition was a group of people from a local U3A Spanish class.
The quizmasters were from Shine Radio and the half-time food was provided by Spice Lounge. The bulk of the amount raised came from the sale of raffle tickets, with contributions from bar and ticket sales. Local businesses rose to the challenge and generously provided some attractive and valuable prizes.
Cllr Cist said: “This was a fun evening, with nice food and challenging questions. I thank Shine Radio, all the generous donors, my colleagues at the Town Hall, Spice Lounge for providing food at cost and all the good folk of Petersfield who turned out to make the evening a success.”
The money raised will be shared equally between the Mayor's two charities this year, the King's Arms youth centre and the PACT Foodbank.
