A?HUGE?pulling together of community and volunteer help made another success of the popular horse ploughing match and country fair at Rogate.

The fine sunshine brought out visitors to the event held at Slade Farm, with more than 50 horses ploughing in good ground conditions and 25 showing in various classes. It was organised by Southern Counties Heavy Horse Association, the oldest working horse association in the UK.

Association chairman Sara Billinghurst said:“We can only continue with the support of the public, our generous sponsors and willing horsemen and women.

“And a special thanks must go to the Davey family for hosting it at Slade Farm, a very busy farm who have given their fields to us every four years or so for 22 years.”

There was a fun family dog show too, trade stands and refreshments.
