HUNDREDS of gardening enthusiasts enjoyed an open gardens event in East Meon.

The East Meon Open Gardens event took place on Sunday.

The East Meon History Group displayed local maps covering the rural surrounds in the hall at The Court House.

Homemade teas were on sale in the church hall. Plants were also on offer.

Birgitte Attley is from the East Meon Garden Club. She said: “It was good. It was a lovely afternoon. There were lots of local people and people from a bit further away too.”

People had the chance to enjoy a flower arranging demonstration too.

Around £1,200 was raised from ticket sales which will be donated to The Rosemary Foundation, which cares for people with life-limiting illnesses in their own home.
