Around £15,000 of watches and jewellery was stolen from a south of Butser home according to police investigating a spate of burglaries around the A3 corridor.

Police say the thief made off with the haul after breaking into a house on Cedar Crescent in Horndean sometime between September 16 and October 11.

The incident is one of several reported around the Hazleton estate, Cowplain and Emsworth in recent weeks with the police launching an appeal for witnesses and information as a result.

East Hampshire Police have reported that jewellery was stolen following a break-in at a home on Almond Close on October 17.

Jewellery was also stolen after a house on nearby Beech Way was broken into sometime between November 10 and 14, while a home on Hazleton Way was targeted on the 18th with police unsure if anything was taken.

Thieves left empty handed after breaking into a house on Spring Vale sometime between October 6 and 10, with nothing being taken following a similar incident at a home on Anvil Close between November 9 and 12.

Thieves also left empty-handed after breaking into a house on Nore Farm Avenue in Emsworth on October 9, but some nearby residents weren’t so fortunate with cash, jewellery and personal items being stolen after four separate homes on Selangor Avenue in the village were broken into between October 29 and November 14.

“We are reviewing CCTV footage from the addresses and neighbouring properties,” said a spokesperson for the police.

“We would ask anyone in the Horndean, Waterlooville and Emsworth areas to please check if they have any footage of suspicious activity which may be linked to these incidents.”
