POTTERY fans will be in their element as an exhibition runs for nine days in Petersfield.

The Exhibition of Ceramics will be launched on Saturday, November 18, at the Physic Garden meeting room in Petersfield High Street.

There will be more than 100 exhibits from 20 potters for sale, including sculptures, functional and decorative pottery.

The exhibition is run and organised by PACS Potters, part of Petersfield Arts and Crafts Society.

One of the exhibitors will be the group’s chairman Christine Bull, whose bowl is pictured left.

She hopes this year’s show will be as successful as the previous two when more than 1,000 people came to admire the works.

Christine said there has been a surge of interest in ceramics including pottery classes being full – a fact she thinks is attributable to the popularity of the television show Pottery Throwdown, which featured amateur potters.

The exhibition’s opening day is from 11am until 4pm and there will be free mulled wine and mince pies for everyone to enjoy.

It will continue daily from 10am until 4pm until Sunday, November 26.

Several members of PACS Potters are also contributing to Ceramicus 2017, an exhibition of ceramics at the Allen Gallery in Church Street, Alton.

The display is open until November 25, excluding Sundays and Mondays, from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Entry is free.
