WINCHESTER Cathedral will be the wonderful setting for a festive concert by The Military Wives on Monday, November 21.

To accompany the release of their new album, Home for Christmas, 17 choirs from around the country will be touring seven cathedrals across the UK next month.

This promises to be an uplifting and poignant concert with classic carols updated with lyrics reflecting what the festive season means to women in the military community.

Released in 2012, their debut album, In My Dreams, featured five choirs. Stronger Together followed, with 760 choir members from 24 choirs.

And now there are 65 choirs on board, comprising 1,006 singers, and Home for Christmas is the Wives’ biggest venture yet.

Chairman of the Military Wives Choirs Foundation Sue Daniels said:?“Christmas can be a difficult time for those in the military community.

“By creating Home for Christmas, we are supporting each other through music.”

The title track Home for Christmas will be released on December 2.
