Traffic chaos for Petersfield commuters as burst water main leads to road closures

THERE was rush hour misery for Petersfield motorists this morning (Tuesday, June 27) with a burst water main at Stroud.

The A272 at Stroud was closed both ways causing long delays for those on their way to work.

Traffic was very slow on the A3 northbound approaching the A272, and slow too on The Causeway, Petersfield.

Some drivers cut through from Stroud to Steep but found more delays there with road works and weight of traffic coming through.

One motorist who comes into Petersfield to work was caught in the Steep traffic which he said was “horrendous”.
